Tourism isn’t just about welcoming visitors—it’s about building real-world skills, making connections, and having fun while getting paid!

  • Over 8,900 full-time jobs are in tourism across PEI
  • 1 in 10 Islanders work in the industry (so chances are, you know someone who does!)
  • Meet new people from all over the world
  • Build skills in customer service, leadership & teamwork
  • Flexible schedules that fit around school, sports & summer plans
  • Competitive Wages

Did You Know? Tourism is a Big Deal in PEI!

Every year, 1.7 million visitors come to PEI to enjoy the beaches, eat world-famous seafood, and explore everything our Island has to offer. That adds up to $520 million in visitor spending—helping our communities thrive and creating meaningful employment for Islanders.

Tourism also generates $88 million in provincial sales taxes, which go toward things YOU and your family rely on, like:

  • Recruiting doctors & improving healthcare
  • Funding schools & education
  • Better roads, parks, transit, and public spaces

The Tourism Job Fairs and Rural Hiring Day are funded by the Department of Workforce, Advanced Learning and Population through the Canada-PEI Labour Market Agreements.
