CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – The Charlottetown Christmas Festival, presented by Discover Charlottetown, is one of Atlantic Canada’s favorite holiday traditions, running throughout the capital city from November 22nd – January 2nd.
This six-week event, held in partnership with the City of Charlottetown and many community partners, offers a wealth of festive magic and holiday programming. Enjoy the Victorian Christmas Market, the weekly Mistletoe Market, the Charlottetown Christmas Parade, Deck the Hall at Founders Food Hall & Market, Breakfasts with Santa, horse & wagon rides, Christmas craft fairs, live music, live ice sculpting, children’s entertainment, festive workshops, and Whoville-inspired Christmas decor.
New Mistletoe Market Location
The Mistletoe Market, a boutique pop-up market, finds a new home in Boulder Park (located at the corner of Grafton Street and Church Street), creating an adorably festive setting to shop for local holiday gifts. Every weekend from November 22nd to December 22nd, discover eight rustic artisan huts transformed into delightful little stores. The Victoria Row Stage will be temporarily relocated to the park, offering live music, ice carving demonstrations, and other exciting programming. Boulder Park will also host the Whoville-inspired decor and a captivating light display.
Victorian Christmas Weekend
The festival’s signature event, the Victorian Christmas Market, takes over Queen Street and Victoria Row in downtown Charlottetown from November 29th to December 1st. This 10th annual open-air market evokes the charm of European Christmas markets. Explore over 50 artisans, crafters, and food vendors, and enjoy hot cocoa, warm apple cider, fire pits, cozy seating, live music, a fresh Christmas tree shop, caroling, visits with Santa, and much more.
Don’t miss the Indigenous Artisan Market at the Confederation Centre (Nov 30) and the Makers Market at the Eastlink Centre (Nov 30 & Dec 1) also taking place this weekend.
Deck the Hall at Founders’ Food Hall
Founders’ Food Hall & Market will be transformed into a magical holiday destination adorned with over 40 Christmas trees, nutcrackers, and an abundance of twinkling lights. Their signature “Deck the Hall” series runs each weekend from December 6th to 22nd. Embrace the festive atmosphere with fire pits, ice sculpting, visits with Santa, outdoor cinema nights, a Night Market, and other exciting activities.
Founders’ will also host Capital City New Year on December 31st with free, family-friendly activities. Enjoy face painting, ice carving displays, live stage entertainment by The Last Forevers – A Pop Icon Tribute Band (featuring the music of Tina Turner, Fleetwood Mac, Sabrina Carpenter, and others), and a spectacular fireworks display at 7 pm.
