TIAPEI Programs

Free professional help for the Island’s tourism operators to support the mental and emotional well-being of their employees and family members.

This new initiative for TIAPEI members is being offered by TIAPEI with support from the Government of Prince Edward Island. The program provides full coverage up to 6 sessions per year dealing with a wide range of problems that can affect personal well-being and work performance. These confidential supports include, but are not limited to, individual and family counselling, alcohol and drug misuse, stress and anxiety supports, bereavement, couple and marital support, depression, family/parenting matters, legal or financial matters, learning disabilities and more.

“The tourism industry has faced a number of incredibly difficult years with pandemic challenges, labour shortages, and the devastation of hurricane Fiona. We recognize the fatigue and pressures not only our operators are facing, but also employees across the industry,” states Corryn Clemence, CEO of TIAPEI. “It is important to offer this type of support to everyone in our industry, and we are grateful for the support of the province in rolling out this new initiative.”

With the pressures and demanding times of that past number of years, it is essential that programs such as this are developed to support Islanders in the tourism industry.

Services will be provided through the Atlantic Employee Assistance Program and can be reached by calling 902-894-8006. The counsellors can offer expertise in a wide range of areas. These counsellors will be available to provide service.
