Tourism Wellness Program

Recognizing the unique challenges faced by Prince Edward Island’s tourism industry, TIAPEI has introduced the Tourism Wellness Program, a pioneering initiative designed to provide free, confidential support for tourism operators, their employees, and family members. With funding from the Government of Prince Edward Island, this program offers up to six fully covered professional counselling sessions per year, addressing a wide range of personal and workplace concerns, from stress and anxiety to financial and legal matters.

This initiative comes at a crucial time, following years of unprecedented challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic, ongoing labor shortages, and the aftermath of Hurricane Fiona. The program’s goal is to promote mental and emotional well-being across the tourism sector, ensuring that those who contribute to PEI’s vibrant visitor economy are supported in both their professional and personal lives. Services are delivered through the Atlantic Employee Assistance Program, which provides expertise in areas such as family counseling, depression, addiction, and more.

By prioritizing the wellness of its workforce, the Tourism Wellness Program strengthens the foundation of PEI’s tourism industry.
