TIAPEI, is offering the Pool and Hot Tub Alliance CPO Certification Course. This program will certify your personal on how to properly maintain your swimming pools and hot tubs to meet Provincial Standards, Guidelines and Legislation. This program is recognized worldwide. Bob Quigley, an award-winning instructor, with over 500 certified candidates takes great pride in providing participants the best possible learning experience.
Topics included are:
- Essential calculations to understand pool water contamination, disinfection, water balance to prevent blockages or corrosion of equipment and save money on operating costs.
- Problem solving with pool and spa water including staining
- Chemical testing for accurate results
- Adding chemical correctly to maintain lower operating costs
- Safe chemical storage
- Water circulation
- Spa Safety
- Emergency plans
- Provincial Legislation
The course dates are April 29-30 & May 1, 2024 (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday). You must attend all three days unless you register as an online candidate. The course will be held at the Rodd Royalty Inn, 14 Capital Dr. Charlottetown, PEI. The course starts at 8:00 am each day. Upon successful completion of the course (pass the open book exam) you will be a Certified Pool Operator under the Pool and Hot Tub Alliance. (There is an option of completing the course online, but you still must be in attendance on May 1st to write the exam). All participants must have a picture ID. Online participant MUST print off a certificate of completion or they will be ineligible to write the exam. No exceptions.

This course is designed to support a wide variety of pool operators from campground owners, hotels, waterparks, public pools, as well as provincial heath inspectors. The cost of the course is $700.00 + HST per person. The certification is valid for 5 years.
