Meet Nicole Wilson of Twin Shores Camping Area

With eight years of experience at the popular campground, Nicole has made it her mission to showcase the Island’s beauty and unique qualities to visitors from around the world.

Having been born and raised in PEI, Nicole’s passion for sharing the Island’s wonders inspired her to pursue a career in the tourism industry. She takes immense pride in being able to introduce visitors to the remarkable attractions that make PEI so special.

Among her favourite memories at Twin Shores Camping Area, Nicole cherishes the enduring relationships she has built with returning guests. Some families have been visiting the campground since its inception in 1969, and witnessing these generations continue the tradition and create lasting memories warms her heart. These guests have become lifelong friends to the entire staff, forming a tight-knit community that truly embodies the spirit of Twin Shores.

Nicole thoroughly enjoys working in the tourism industry in PEI due to its vitality and vibrancy. Interacting with like-minded individuals who are passionate and dedicated is not only inspiring but also fosters a supportive network of mentors and friends.

In her role, Nicole has found that effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are vital. As a marketing professional, she engages with visitors, industry peers, colleagues, and various stakeholders, necessitating clear and concise communication. Additionally, good time management is crucial during the busy summer tourism season, allowing Nicole to make the most of the relatively short but bustling period.

She firmly believes that working in the tourism industry in PEI offers countless opportunities for growth. Contrary to popular belief, tourism is not just a seasonal career but a year-round endeavour. With a constantly evolving and expanding industry, new avenues and experiences present themselves daily. As one of the largest industries in PEI, tourism plays a pivotal role in the local economy, Nicole feels privileged to say she’s part of it.

She finds inspiration in her two-year-old child, who serves as a driving force in her life. The desire to provide a good life for her son and be a strong, hardworking role model fuels her dedication. Watching her child explore the world with wonder and curiosity rejuvenates Nicole’s own perspective, enabling her to see things in a renewed light.

When not at work, Nicole can be found exploring the island, basking in the beauty of the beach, or enjoying quality time with her family on the deck. These moments of relaxation and connection are vital for her well-being, allowing her to recharge and appreciate the simple joys of life on PEI.
